CineClub couldn't start
This is nearly always the connection dropping mid-load — most often just after a device wakes up or reconnects to Wi-Fi. Your club and everything in it are safe.
One quick setup step
CineClub needs a free Firebase project to store your club's data. It takes about five to ten minutes, once.
- Go to console.firebase.google.com and create a project.
- Add a Web app and copy the
firebaseConfigvalues. - Open Build, then Firestore Database and create a database.
- Paste the contents of
firestore.rulesinto the Firestore Rules tab and publish. - Open Build, then Authentication, then Sign-in method and enable Anonymous.
- Paste your config into
js/firebase.jsand reload.

The club sets a watch-by date. Everyone marks it off when they've seen it — or passes, if life got in the way.

Rate it — sealed
Half-star rating plus a short review. Nobody sees yours and you don't see theirs, so no one anchors off the loudest opinion.
SealedEveryone's reviews appear the moment all members have watched and rated.

Everyone's in — reviews unseal
All the reviews land at once, the turn passes to the next person, and the film joins your club's stats and history.
That's the whole commitment: a name to start, and roughly one film a week. No account and no install needed — though you can save your account later so a new phone never loses your club.
Waiting to be let in
Someone in the club needs to approve your request to join. This updates automatically — leave this open, or come back later.
Already in this club on another device? You don't need approving — and you'll go straight in, keeping your place in the turn order.
